Assembles, prepares, serves and delivers trays, meals, and nourishments to patients, floors and other customers or clients. Attends to patient, nursing and/or other customer food service and related requests, needs or requirements in a friendly, cheerful, patient and customer-focused manner. Assists patients, families, caretakers and nursing in acquiring trays, meals and other items. Assists with providing AM and PM nourishment and stock orders as needed.
Collects trays and other items for transport to Food Service. Assists the sanitation of the entirety of the department including, but not limited to pots, dish room, trash, floors and special cleaning as assigned.
Makes necessary adjustments in schedule, assignment or position as needed to ensure the delivery of patient and other client meals and a safe environment. Actively supports and participates in performance improvement activities, including but not limited to tray assessments, meal rounds, department committees.
Knowledgeable of, observes and complies with hospital safety policies, emergency procedures and standard precautions. Answers questions within your scope of practice and refers other questions to appropriate person. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Completion of or enrollment in High School or High School equivalent. Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and courteously via telephone, in person or in writing. Ability to read, comprehend and write simple and moderately complex instructions, correspondence and memos in English. Ability to speak and communicate in Spanish is desired. Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions. Ability to use common sense in carrying out written and oral instructions and solving problems.
Physical Requirements : Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Visual Acuity : The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.)
Environmental Conditions : The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
