The Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier has an immediate opening for an experienced Food and Beverage Supervisor!

At The Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, the job expectations for the Food and Beverage Supervisor reflect their responsibilities as key management members. These expectations are based on the Food and Beverage Supervisors’ key role in demonstrating (1) leadership, (2) ownership of responsibility for everything that occurs in the back of the house, and (3) communication with their employees. In fulfilling this role, Executive Chefs are expected to do the following:
  • Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities;
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food;
  • Standardize production and ensure consistent quality;
  • Establish presentation technique and quality standards;
  • Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance; and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen.
  • Supervise kitchen personnel with responsibility for hiring, discipline and performance reviews.
The Food and Beverage Supervisor candidate must have at least 1+ years experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Well-qualified candidates will have hands-on experience with food inventories and good understanding of all that impacts food cost, must be well versed in writing schedules and meeting or exceeding budgeted labor cost through effective management, and should possess strong leadership skills to motivate and develop staff. Proven tenure is required.
