PURPOSE

Under general supervision, drives an industrial forklift truck equipped to move parts, products, equipment or materials in a warehouse, storage, factory or yard environment; completes projects involving standard loads.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.

Drives an industrial forklift truck equipped to load, unload, lift, stack or move products, parts, equipment or materials in a warehouse, storage shed factory or storage yard.

2.

Loads and checks trucks and trailers for delivery verifying that materials loaded match invoice or bill of lading.

3.

Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

4.

Other duties may be assigned.

COMPETENCIES

OSHA forklift certification

·

Knowledge of safety procedures while performing forklift driving and materials handling tasks

·

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

·

Ability to count items and verify against prepared lists

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High school degree or General Education Degree (GED) and six months experience with performing these or similar tasks; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires OSHA Forklift Certification.

Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds.

o

Must be able to physically operate forklift equipment (climb up and down into cab, twist torso for 360 degree visibility, use arms to operate controls, etc.).
