The Forklift Operator follows general safety practices in operating equipment and performs operator’s maintenance on equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates electric, gasoline or diesel powere forklift trucks in order to lift loads

Operator loads/unloads, transfers, transports, stacks/unstacks palletized goods, boxes, crates, MILES, materials, and supplies from one location to receive, unloads, and process incoming shipments of Multiple Integrated Laser Equipment Systems equipment arriving via various modes of transportation

Assembles items grouping materials according o receiving, vouchers and, as necessary, into subgroups based on condition and type of transaction.

Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.

Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Non-Essential Duties:
Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to efficiently operate bulldozers, wheel loaders, excavator and off road dump trucks.

Ability to operate heavy equipment.

Knowledge of the overall warehousing plan, accepted warehousing methods, shipping, and issuing procedures/techniques in order to select proper storage locations, stock, and palletize items.

Knowledge of MILES devices and their components to operate and perform routine user maintenance.

Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance.

Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.

Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

Required Experience

Qualifications - Experience, Education and Licensure :
High school diploma or equivalent.

1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Lifttruck Certification.

Additional Qualifying Factors:
As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results. Must be able to able to gain access to US military installations. Valid Driver’s license, proof of insurance, and acceptable driving record required. Reliable transportation to/from work a necessity.
