This position could potentially go permanent with the client. Details: Plant: 1,600 megawatt (2 units @ 800 mw each) Fossil Coal Plant Location: Marissa, IL (just outside of St. Louis, MO) Duration: 6 months; position has the potential to go permanent Per Diem: $80/day ($560/week) + Mob/Demob of $500 each way Benefits: 1 trip home/month up to $500 round trip Safety Manager - POWER PLANT Summary Promote a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, subcontractors, and vendors by evaluating safety performance and procedures, investigate and report all significant safety incidences (accidents, injuries, deviations from safety procedures and significant near misses) and develop/implement safety and health programs.

Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws, company policies and procedures, and labor agreements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, any one of the following assigned areas: Contributes to the health and safety of the employees through the development and implementation of effective health and safety programs, policies and procedures. Oversees compliance with the Safety Program through audits, investigations, and review of results. Monitors the general contractor’s compliance with project specifications and all applicable legal requirements (i.e.

OSHA) Ensures management understands state and federal laws by studying the law and providing management with an interpretation. Contributes to a reduction in operating costs by providing health and safety programs which reduce property damage claims, citations, worker’s compensation claims, and downtime due to lost-time injuries. Prevents initial personal injury and accidents by coordinating and assisting in thorough accident investigations and provides management with specific recommendations to prevent recurrence. Develop emergency preparedness plans and provide specific guidance in implementation of the plan.

Conduct training programs for all employees regarding the emergency preparedness plan. Act as a critical resource to the Power Plant Safety Committee Job Requirements Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 5 years of experience working in a power plant environment preferred. Minimum 15 years safety experience is preferred. OSHA 501 certification preferred Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.

Knowledge of safety and health procedures, first aid methods, and power generating operation principles. Knowledge of state and federal health and safety laws required. Microsoft Office Suite, for preparation of presentations and reports. Skills, abilities and physical requirements Must be able to effectively communicate with employees, supervisors, company leadership and the owners.

Ability to, develop and lead a diverse team to deliver outstanding business results. Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to read and understand operating procedures. Ability to establish and maintain a highly organized work environment.

Ability to provide oversight and support for a 24/7 shift operation as required. Ability to work unsupervised as required. Ability to sit, stand, reach, stoop, and lift boxes weighing as much as 25 pounds
