Job Responsibilities:

Under the general supervision and with appropriate mentoring, this person will be responsible for assisting the Oakwood Healthcare Foundation on special projects in the areas of Major Gifts, Special Events, Annual Giving, Grants, Prospect Research, Communications and Stewardship. By the conclusion of the internship, the Foundation Intern will possess a general understanding of the development profession and have the basic skills required to obtain an entry-level position in the development field.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree Program at the junior or senior level or a recent graduate of a Bachelor’s Degree Program.
  • Experience: Experience working with volunteer committees.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Flexibility and ability to work under pressure.Personal characteristics associated with successful development professionals (i.e., integrity, team player, etc.) including sound judgment, demonstrated initiative, appropriate professional appearance, attitude and personality to deal effectively with staff and to lead volunteers and system constituents.Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access required.
