Job Description:
The Fraud Investigator role contributes to the overall company strategy with daily fraud investigation matters and payment processing support with the objective of reducing chargeback.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Investigate assigned cases or incidents of reported fraud, including but not limited to stolen financials, account intrusion, organized structured fraud, frivolous fraud claims; skip trace known or unknown persons as to recoup fraud loss and compliance breach, and perform linked analysis as to detect and mitigate further potential risks
Prepare and manage thorough, complete and accurate investigative narrative and reporting of fraud cases along with corroborating data and other evidence that may be used in a criminal prosecution or civil matter
Review daily risk monitoring reports and alerts and take appropriate actions to mitigate fraud exposure
Affect outbound investigative/verification phone calls to Third Party entities so as to determine legitimacy of legacy and newly registered users, validity of chargeback claims or refunds, and other information associated with fraud risk mitigation and funds recovery; such calls may include interviewing registered users or identified claimants and suspects
Cooperate and/or work jointly with fraud risk counterparts across business units including the financial industry, retail and ecommerce space, and law enforcement community
Develop and maintain constructive professional relationships with immediate and cross-functional teams by sharing awareness, trends and experiences that may stem from other markets
Provide recommendations to the modification or creation of risk policy and procedures so as to enhance fraud detection and mitigation and recovery efforts

Qualifications:
BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum 7 years work experience in financial industry, retail or e-commerce space, or 10 years combined work experience across multiple industries
Advanced knowledge of financial crimes and online exploits, including but not limited to payment card rules & regulations, banking or securities provisions, and retail or online privacy, including FACTA and CA OPPA
Solid experience on multiple payment platforms and channels, including credit and debit cards or other frontend loadable prepaid instruments; ACH EFT, Fedwire, and Third Party payment platforms such as PayPal, Ukash, Alipay or Western Union
Knowledge and experience of various detective and investigative risk solutions, including case management system, risk monitoring platform, reporting vehicles
Professional certification desired: CFE, CFI, CFS
Advanced investigative interviewing and interrogation skills and tactics, Reid or BATI trained a plus
Must be comfortable with adult content
Able to type a minimum of 40 WPM
Must be at least 21 years of age
