Position Summary: Provides friendly and efficient patient experience, answering phones, maintaining patient files, scheduling appointments, distributing daily correspondence, and ordering inventory of clerical supplies.Essential Duties: Records time and date appointment in computer.Records in schedule when appointments have been filled or canceled.Verifies patient appointments.Receives payments for services and records them in computer.Greets and directs patients, salespeople and visitors.Pulls patient charts prior to appointment or upon registration.Verifies patient record is up-to-date and accurate. Makes appropriate changes in computer system and on patient's chart.Compiles new patient packages.Reviews, copies, and distributes correspondenceBalances cash drawer daily.Informs and monitors tech callbacks.Maintains proper opening and closing procedures.Verifies Insurances and makes appropriate phone calls to patient if eligibility is not able to be obtainedExplain Insurance benefits and Copays Assists in other office needs.Job Requirements: Education/Experience- High School Diploma or equivalent. Optical experience preferred.Computer Skills- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word processing software; Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software; Compulink Eye Care Advantage database software and Microsoft Outlook.Customer Service Skills.
