The freshly renovated Sheraton Crescent Hotel is centrally located off the I-17 freeway in Phoenix. Our Guests' can relax in one of our 342 guest rooms or multiple types of suites, each furnished with the new Sheraton Sweet Sleeper™ Bed. We also offer the Sheraton Club Lounge conveniently located on preferred floors. In the Club Lounge, our Guests' will find a relaxing, upscale space that offers complimentary breakfast, afternoon hors d'oeuvres and a variety of beverage options. Our diverse, state-of-the-art meeting facilities offer the perfect choice for any event. We have two elegant ballrooms - the Crescent which can accommodate up to 1,000 guests and the Phoenix which can host up to 500 guests. The Front Desk Supervisor will play many critical roles to enhance the guests' experience. This individual will demonstrate initiative to lead and provide ongoing training and support to Front Desk Agents. Through hands on supervision, this individual will manage the work environment to ensure maximum efficiency while maintaining guest service standards. Responsibilities include registering guests into the computer, promoting the Starwood Preferred Guest Program, and processing payments for the guests' accounts.
The most suitable Front Desk Supervisor will have previous supervisory experience, combined with a minimum of 2 years hands-on Front Desk exposure. Excellent customer service skills essential. Prior hotel operations experience a plus, but not required. Selected candidate will have proficiency in Microsoft Office and understanding of Galaxy/Light Speed (or other similar hotel property management system). Flexibility of schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays required. POSITION PURPOSE
Orchestrate and expedite the registration and checkout process at the front desk. Oversee the daily operation of the front desk.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
AVERAGE % OF TIME
30% Greet and welcome guests upon arrival. Register guests into the computer, verifying reservation, address, and credit information. Promote the Starwood Preferred Guest Program and provide recognition and benefits to all present members.
20% Accept payment for guests' accounts both at the time of registration and at checkout. Maintain a house bank and make a deposit and accurate report of receipts daily. Cash checks and exchange currency for guests.
20% Supervise the front desk agents, ensuring the correct sequence of events for proper registration and checkout of guests. Assign specific tasks to front desk agents relative to credit, missing addresses, registration bucket maintenance, registration cards, posting charges, and overall cleanliness and organization of the front desk.
15% Provide ongoing training and support to front desk agents.
10% Issue key to and control entrance of safety deposit boxes. Post miscellaneous charges as requested.
5% Maintain all front desk related equipment and a par stock of supplies.
Other:
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Starwood rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel's facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Maintain a daily log of all guests' opportunities with corrective action steps. Follow-up on any unresolved situations in a timely manner and pass on appropriate information to other Managers for handling.
Follow-up on credit opportunities.
