Front Office Assistant Dental has an essential role in patient interaction. Front Office Assistant greets patients and prepares them for their appointments, receives and distributes office mail and e-mail, answers phones, communicates patient arrivals, coordinates schedules, and manages administrative records.
Develops and maintains doctor/hygienist schedule to meet practice goals.
Responsible for answering incoming calls to include, new patient calls, emergencies, scheduling patient appointments, requesting records, and follow up.
Greet and check patients in and out for and after treatment.
Educate and consult patients discussing treatment needs and presenting treatment plans.
Make pre-treatment financial arrangements with patients.
Responsible for billing dental insurance, posting payments, and claim estimations.
Follows office procedures for patient referrals.
Responds to doctor, patient and employee concerns and inquiries and seeks assistance when necessary.
Monitoring broken appointments
Engineering the schedule
Keeping a calendar of all office and doctor activities
Sending recall and appointment cards
Printing, highlighting and distributing the daily schedule
Keeping call lists for patients who need to schedule
Making outgoing calls to patients to schedule
Generating the day sheet
Balancing the day and closing out the month
Generating and working the 3-Day Report
Monitoring petty cash in the office
Backing up the computer
Preparing for huddle
Setting up and maintaining the interoffice mail center
