Who We Are Looking For:

We’re seeking a full stack Rails engineer to refactor, build and maintain production quality Rails applications. We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated and eager to learn in a fast-moving environment (requirements are known to change weekly!). We have a small development team, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable in all levels of the RoR stack as well as having experience with app deployments and associated challenges. This position requires System Administration capabilities on both Linux (webservers/app servers) and Windows (administrative) platforms. The System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems and programming platforms are highly available and being provisioned and deployed in a cost-effective manner.

The ideal candidate will have experience with the following:
  • 5 years of professional web development experience
  • 3 years working experience with Rails applications and version upgrades
  • Have used Git/Github for version control
  • Front end ability utilizing JS,CSS,HTML/SLIM
  • Comfortable with Linux, and deploying Rails applications on Linux using Apache/Passenger
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2/S3/RDS) - At least 5 Instances preferred
  • Experience with Redmine or other Project Management tool based workflows
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments
  • Strong oral and written communication skill
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgments
  • Experience with cloud sever based applications preferred but not required
  • Experience (interest in) developing mobile apps for iPhone or Android is a plus
  • Design experience is a plus, too
