The Functionality testing role provides a great deal of responsibility, whether you are a new Engineer just starting your career or a veteran. Every person on the team has the opportunity to become the product or feature expert and go-to person for the entire company. Functionality Engineers are the first to see a product or feature in a real world environment and not only determine if it is functional, but ensures that the experience for the end customer exceeds expectations. The Functionality Engineer has an incredibly proactive job; they need to be ahead of the Customer, Development, and Support to provide the best practices needed for the successful implementation of the product. The Functionality Engineer has to think in many directions by developing a well-designed plan and test scenarios before the customer is even part of the equation. Functionality Engineers must demonstrate the willingness to take chances, continue to develop new tools, learn new technologies, and be confident in their work.
