Trigyn's Direct Government Client has a contract assignment for a GIS Developer in Raleigh, NC. Description: Trigyn's Direct Government Client is seeking to fill a short term (approx. 5- 6 month assignment) This position is a necessary resource to provide the Geographic Information Systems and services required by business units, and senior management. Develop, implement and maintain facets of clients Geographic Information System to include: foundational GIS servers, file servers and services, file server management, GIS desktops (virtual and physical), and virtual application delivery.
Some of this work requires expertise as a system engineer / administrator / builder with the balance of the work requiring expertise writing and tracking Requests for Change and change execution procedures. Project management / project lead of complex projects involving multiple staff across specialty areas. Develop, maintain, and execute system monitoring procedures to include: status, utilization, capacity, and support for Data Center Operations staff to monitor servers and applications. Research, recommend, and implement emerging technology solutions.
Ensure systems are tested sufficiently. This work may include: designing test plans and specifications, implementing test plans, executing testing procedures, collecting and reporting results. Help develop, review and enforce Unit, Branch, and Department wide GIS architectural issues and policies. Develop and maintain system documentation required for all applicable teams: GIS Unit, Infrastructure Build, Operations and Maintenance, ITS Infrastructure Build and Operation, and Client Services.
Help to ensure agency and inter-agency standards compliance. Consult as needed on technology issues up to and including very complex, multi-agency efforts. Mentor/Train Staff and develop measures to ensure appropriate knowledge transfer. Provide 2nd tier support for the Help Desk and occasionally staff the Help desk (route or resolve minor incidents as appropriate, engage other 2nd or 3rd tier support as required.)
