The Chesapeake Public Works Department is seeking a qualified GIS Specialist to perform the following duties:
Create, edit and maintain storm water, traffic-related and other Public Works feature classes in the Enterprise Geodatabase.
Exercise quality assurance measures to ensure Public Works' GIS data conformity and integrity.
Provide data and support for Hurricane disaster response and recovery
Work with consultants and vendors to provided GIS data for Public Works and other projects.
Data analysis, reporting, and decision support for Public Works management, including the Director and the City Engineer
Resource and support for GIS software within department to include formal and informal training sessions
You must have 4 years of GIS-related experience and a degree is a related field or education and training equivalent to four years of college education.
Knowledge of ESRI product suite
Knowledge of gDBMS concepts and quality control techniques
Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and prioritize them
Salary = $42,734 - $47,007
