Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a leader in environmental and cultural resource consulting in Northern Virginia, is currently seeking a full time GIS and AutoCAD Technician.
Manage, model, and analyze spatial Environmental and Engineering data; including but not limited to spatial data entry, importing, exporting, editing, geo-referencing, and editing vector and raster datasets.
Maintain and create procedures for mapping software automation and database documentation.
Develop and update AutoCAD drawings from information provided by staff and clients
Assist staff with AutoCAD spatial data creation, and spatial reference systems conversions/scaling.
Generate project maps to be used for environmental analysis, reports, and presentations in GIS and AutoCAD software.
Experience with ESRI GIS products (ArcGIS Desktop and Server), AutoCAD, and MS Access.
Knowledge of ArcGIS Online and Cloud data management and distribution.
Experience with AutoCAD functions and applications.
Solid understanding of spatial reference systems, projections, and survey standards.
Strong skills in cartographic design, principles and technology.
Knowledge in application development, .NET, JAVA, SQL Server, and XML a plus.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Ability to perform and manage multiple tasks within budget and on schedule
Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
Ability to ensure the accuracy of data delivered to staff and clients
Highly motivated and creative
Possess detailed data management and organization skills.
A Bachelors degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 2 years experience with ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD software.
