Currently, Meijer is looking for a GM Zone Sales Area Team Leader. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for providing remarkable customer service to the General Merchandise departments by delivering on Brand Promises through team execution; i.e. "Providing an easy shopping experience for our customers." The individual will also develop a team that consistently meets goals for productivity and customer service. Key responsibilities include:
Modeling exceptional, fast and friendly customer service
Ensuring the daily, weekly, and period General Merchandise sales goals are met by team members
Mentoring and coaching General Merchandise Zone Sales Team Leader to ensure Customer Service Expectations are exceeded
Mentoring and coaching the General Merchandise Zone Sales Team Members to ensure customer service and sales goals are exceeded and the General Merchandise area is maintained to Meijer standards
Selection and training of Team Member Customer Experience Coordinators
Promoting succession planning by providing career paths and identifying development needs for the General Merchandise Team Members
Reviewing Customer Service Surveys and customer feedback from previous week or day
Spending 90% of time on sales floor communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service is being delivered by organizing and maintaining the Remarkable Service Board
Reviewing sales goals
Communicating the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings and conversations
Inventory preparation of the General Merchandise Sales Floor
Reviewing the General Merchandise Zone Sales departments to ensure the merchandising and customer service levels are to Meijer standards
There is a 48 hours (exempt) pay base for this position
Other daily tasks as required
Successful completion of all required curriculums
Excellent communication, coaching and mentoring skills
Ability to develop and achieve sales goals
Ability to work with team to deliver a fast and friendly customer service experience to our customers
Comprehensive knowledge of all functions and services provided by the General Merchandise Zone Sales departments
Expert in customer service
Focuses on selling merchandise
Maintains a positive working relationship with customers, team members and leadership
Strong leadership, mentoring and communication skills
Possesses excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Ensures the General Merchandise Zone Sales Department is properly staffed and thoroughly trained in all aspects of their jobs and have completed all required training curriculums
This position may require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, squatting, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing
