GRADUATE STUDENT

Develop and demonstrate perception algorithms that make use of RGB-D sensors (Microsoft Kinect) for model-based object recognition and pose estimation.

Education/Experience

Qualified candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and pursuing a Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree with at least a 3.0 GPA. Must have experience developing perception algorithms for object recognition and pose estimation for robotic manipulation; must have C++ software development experience; knowledge of OpenCV, PCL, and ROS is a plus; knowledge of industrial robotic manipulators is a plus; knowledge of robotic manipulator motion and grasp planning is a plus.
Primary consideration for this position will be given to qualified candidates currently residing in San Antonio and surrounding areas.
