Arizona Driver License- required

Prepares food for patients, visitors, and staff using menus, recipes, production sheets, tally sheets, and using safe food handling techniques to help provide optimal nutritional care and wellness to patients, visitors, and staff. Assures that food production is of high quality and that foods are prepared and cooked in accordance with all CMS, county and other applicable regulatory agencies. Assists the kitchen supervisors by performing lead functions in the kitchen through a variety of activities including assistance with hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising of kitchen staff. Barista experience preferred.
High School diploma or GED required plus specialized training preferred.
Certified Dietary Manager or Culinary training preferred.
Valid AZ Drivers License required (for operating catering vehicles)
Food Managers Certificate obtained within 30 days of hire required.
REQUIRED SKILLS: * Effective oral and written communication skills to communicate with customers and understand oral and written instructions. Must be positive, kind and caring. * Able to read, write and speak English in an understandable manner. * Requires a high level of analytic ability to identify and evaluate problems and recommend solutions in quality of services, tests and related procedures. * Requires high level of accuracy to recognize symptoms, follow orders, initiate and document patient care measures and instruct patients. * Possess the ability to assess, document and implement actions required to meet patient/family needs and exceed their expectations. * Able to relate to and work with ill and disabled patients of all ages, bilingual patients, emotionally distressed patients and families, and with hospital personnel within the facility. * Able to cope with varying and unpredictable situations tactfully with personnel, patients, family members, visitors and the general public while maintaining a positive, empathetic attitude at all times. * Able to respond to emergency and crisis situations in a timely and professional manner. * Able to deal with high stress and high demand work environment. * Able to work varying shifts/units, rotate days off, and work weekends.
