Ubisoft Entertainment, a global leader in the video games and entertainment software industry, is currently seeking a full-time Gameplay Programmer . We are looking for a highly talented, motivated and experienced person to help shape the future of Rocksmith—the first cross-platform music game that works with any electric guitar.


-Under supervision of the lead engineer, design core systems and implement the vision of the game as set forth by the creative director, producer, and artists

-Create and maintain technical design documents and self-manage programming task schedules

-Provide mentorship to less experienced programmers

-Facilitate communication between engineering and other production teams

-Document the work so as to transfer knowledge and ensure that other production members understand how to use the core systems and functionalities


-3-4 years of experience in programming/engineering development

-2+ published titles credited as Gameplay Programmer or equivalent

-Bachelors in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent

-Experienced in developing and implementing key gameplay systems

-Experienced working with third party software

-Developed games on current gen consoles (PS3, Xbox360) and PC/Mac

-Outstanding C/C++ development and optimization skills

-Strong knowledge of scripting languages (Lua, Python, Perl)

-Knowledge of design oriented objects (UML)

-Excellent understanding of software design techniques

-Strong knowledge of performance/memory constraints of game software required

-Works well with designers and artists to implement the vision of the game

-Excels at implementing core gameplay systems

-Able to create, document, and maintain TDDs and programming schedules

-Understanding of game development tools required

-Strong debugging skills

-Strong mathematical skills
