Borgess Medical Center is now accepting applications for a full-time Gardener.
Under general supervision, oversees the work of Maintenance Yard personnel. Trains and orients new staff to the Medical Center. Assists in developing weekly staffing schedules and prepares daily work schedules. Responsible for maintaining the Medical Center grounds and gardens by performing landscape design such as planting, seeding, cultivating, fertilizing and pruning.
- Experience required in landscape design, which can be obtained through two to three years of previous work experience.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to understand instructions and respond to written and/or verbal directions.
- Analytical skills necessary to read and interpret blueprints and perform mathematical calculations and operate power machinery.
- Must have demonstrated abilities to lead peers.
Knowledge of English language in order to understand and transmit information orally or in writing which can normally be obtained through completion of high school.
A current Michigan Chemical Applicators Certification and Master Gardener Certificate at start date.
Valid Michigan Driver's License at start date.
