The Power Generation Gas Turbine (GT) Controls Lead Services Training Instructor leads projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business or is a recognized expert in the specialized field of GT controls. In this role you will be responsible for major & complex assignments with long-term business implications.

Essential Responsibilities
In addition, you will:
  • Work closely with direct management, key Controls Product Line Leadership and Power Services Global Resource COE members to deliver current, cutting edge technology training to meet business fulfillment needs
  • Develop and deliver course modules as well as supervise other turbine controls program instructors to meet the overall controls training mission - to train GE GT controls specialists
  • Develop and build lab stations to support courses
  • Provide student performance evaluation appraisals
  • Identify and procure new equipment for use in technical training(appropriation requests)
  • Conduct training review board meetings with business teams on a regular rhythm
  • Lead the development and improvements of training programs as required based on NPS, student and business feedback
  • Provide program leadership through active contacts with operations, engineering and service shops to stay current on technical, procedural and business changes
  • Ensure training materials are formatted to a consistent design and quality and are regularly updated and revised
  • Manage, troubleshoot, repair and maintain lab equipment and software
  • Create an innovative learning environment that will address rapidly changing competencies due to business growth
  • Ensure that all labs, activities, and classes are conducted with a 100% commitment to safety by implementing, documenting, and following strict safety procedures

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and/or Physical Sciences (or a High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering field)
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands on field experience with Gas Turbine controls equipment installation, startup and maintenance
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time, as required

    Desired Characteristics
  • Experience in development and implementation of learning programs, including needs assessment, instructional design, content development and program reviews
  • Technically savvy, with in-depth GE Gas Turbine controls product knowledge (MK IV, V, VI and VIe)
  • Ability to learn and apply new technology, specifically MK VIe or other advanced GE controls products
  • General Electric Energy Field Engineering Program (FEP) graduate
  • Technical Training experience (customer or internal)
  • Recent installation experience; GE Gas Turbine Startup Program graduate; Certified DLN Tuner, Green Belt certified (GE Employees Only)
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)
  • Flexible, willing to learn and teach new technologies
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proficient with current e-business tools and current coreload software
  • Prior experience in developing and managing training
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability and desire to actively collaborate within a team
  • Independent self-starter with excellent follow through skills
  • Strong ability to clearly convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel
  • Dedication and drive to meet the highest standards
