You will manage monthly, quarterly and year end financial close; analysis of general ledger accounts for trends, discrepancies, or needed adjustments of a high level of complexity; half and year end financial consolidation reporting; fixed assets maintenance, inventory, and accounting; Review and approve journal entries to ensure they are reasonable and consistent with policy, do not conflict with GAAP, and research and resolve discrepancies as appropriate; Conduct monthly trend analysis/schedules for trends, identification or problems comparing P&L, cashflow, inventory etc. (month to month, year to year); Review variance discrepancy reports for TMRU, research and assist in making appropriate adjustments; Assist in the physical inventory as it relates to the accounting area, including data entry requirements, auditing, planning and organization, and subsequent reconciliation; Resolve complex accounting issues or assists other personnel in resolving financial issues.
Cash Trade/Cash Forecast:
You will review and approve daily cash trade activity including borrowing or investment; Review and approve daily/weekly/monthly cash forecast; Review cash trends and conduct analysis as appropriate; Review/prepare ABS schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance with ABS program.
You will manage the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accurate and timely payment of vendor invoices and expense reports, statutory reporting and generation of 1099 or related documents; Manage Sunshine Act compliance to ensure accurate reporting to the Department of Health and Human Services.
You will manage and develop department personnel: hire, train, oversee and evaluate performance, coach, and mentor; Serve as interface for all department projects, including projects that may impact the GL; Coordinate and manage all external audits; Support Assistant Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements; Have the ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions.
5+ years experience in general accounting and/or finance, including three years managing staff.
Four year degree in Accounting or Finance - CPA a plus.
Oracle experience preferred.
Strong understanding of US GAAP - IFRS experience a plus.
Strong PC skills, including MS Excel (advanced level), Word, and Powerpoint; Essbase or similar data warehousing experience desirable.
Strong verbal/written communication, analytical, and problem solving skills; strong detail orientation, and follow-up.
Good judgment and a high degree of tact and diplomacy are essential.
