The Office of Chief Counsel, IRS seeks an attorney to fill a position in the Tax Exempt and Government Entities(TEGE) business unit. The Office of Chief Counsel, IRS serves as independent counsel to the IRS Commissioner and furnishes legal advice and representation, nationwide, on matters related to the administration and enforcement of Internal Revenue laws. The attorney should have experience in all aspects of health and welfare benefits. This experience should include:
[section] 125 - cafeteria plans; §§ 9701 through 9722 - coal industry health benefits; §§ 9801 through 9833 - HIPAA and related health care benefits; § 501(c)(9) - voluntary employee beneficiary associations; §§ 419 and 419A - funded welfare benefit plans; § 104 - compensation for injuries and sickness (except § 104(a)(2)); § 105 - amounts received under accident and health plans; § 106 - employer-provided coverage under accident or health plans; § 129 - dependent care assistance programs; § 223 - health savings accounts; § 79 - group term life insurance; [section] 4376 – Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute fee on sponsors of self-insured health plans; § 4980B - failure to satisfy continuation coverage requirements of group health plans (COBRA); [section] 4980H – employer shared responsibility provisions.
