Akima Facilities Management, LLC has demonstrated, reliable performance in base operations, engineering support, and research facility operations and maintenance. The company also holds contracts for communications support, training support, and range maintenance.
Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skills and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Replace electrical receptacles, wiring, switches, fixtures, and motors. Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings. Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets. Paint structures and equipment. Replace or repair concrete floors, steps and sidewalks. Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles. Hang doors and install door locks. Replace broken windowpanes. Perform maintenance on equipment and machinery. Determines materials needed for repair work and prepares requisition. Responsible for timely reporting of accidents, injuries, and hazardous situations. Use portable radios to communicate with supervisors and service call desk and airfield management. Perform all other work related duties as assigned. Timely completion and accuracy of all work. Working closely and harmoniously with other employees. Adherence to contract requirements, safety and health regulations, and company policies Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to extreme temperatures, noise, inclement weather conditions, and other conditions determined by the nature of the job. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard, and soft-carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces at variable heights.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Class C Texas driver’s license.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Three-year similar experience.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Knowledge of concrete and asphalt.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Ability to understand and have working knowledge of hazardous, safety, and environmental warnings.
• General knowledge of all maintenance and construction trades.
• Must be able to climb ladders scaffolds and walkways; be able to complete assigned tasks in high or confined spaces.
•Preferred: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High school graduate or equivalent
