Title: General Manager Custom and Specialty Products
Location: Kiel, WI
Goal: Manage the Contract and Specialty Division through the active management of the sales force and by initiating new strategies/customer contacts.
Work with engineering and operations peers to plan and execute strategies to grow the business.
Lead and manage execution to meet annual business plan.
Be actively involved in preparing the annual sales forecast by region.
Make recommendations for the appropriate use of advertising and other sales tools.
Directly manage the District Sales managers, Customer Service Department and Manufacturers Representative organizations the company currently uses to distribute its products.
Maintain ongoing supervision relative to the performance of the departments employees review their performance semiannually.
Establish goals and objectives with each employee that is consistent with corporate goals, objectives and strategies and measure the performance as compared to these goals.
Travel with the field sales force in order to maintain good relationships with customers.
Provide assistance along with the in-house employees in preparing quotes for new business.
Personally maintain several key house accounts and be the lead on major quotes.
Be in constant contact with the field sales force as to status of current quote activity and current customer activity. Develop a communication tool whereby this information can be gathered, reviewed and then transmitted.
At least 7 years of field territory selling experience in the O.E.M. marketplace.
Experience in custom designed products whose manufacturing requirements include deep draw, stamping, spinning, castings/forgings and fabrication.
Experience with selling to all levels of engineering and to the purchasing/sourcing departments.
At least 5 years experience in managing a Division that includes a dedicated sales force.
Masters Degree preferred.
