Job Description:
POSITION INFORMATION
Position Title: General Manager
Location: Regional Support Center
Supervisor’s Title: Regional Vice President
ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The General Manager (GM) serves as the leader of the day
to day operational activities of their support center
to achieve maximum profitability. The GM is further
charged with advising, recommending and assisting the
Global Support Center in the formulation of overall
Company objectives, policies and plans. The General
Manager (GM) serves the primary sales role in both the
dissemination of information pertaining to and the
direct control of franchise sales.
The GM provides leadership for building a culture that
is consistent with the Company’s Passion, Vision,
Mission and Values.
PRINCIPAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop long and short range plans for the operation
of the region, ensure the plans, once approved,
are properly executed and that the Regional Vice
President is kept informed of overall operations,
trends and activities within the regions.
2. Provide timely budget forecasts regarding but not
limited to business levels, financial requirements,
personnel needs, organizational plans and facility
requirements needed to support the operations of
the region and their projected effect on investment and
earnings.
3. Establish performance standards for the region’s
operational team, evaluate performance of each
team against the established standards, and work with in
conjunction with the VP Operations in
improving and maintaining these standards.
4. Responsible for all activities pertaining to the
selling of Coverall Franchises.
5. Oversee all activities related to the development of
Coverall Franchise Owners to minimize account
attrition.
6. Seek concurrence on recommendations, or advise and
act where final authority has been delegated
regarding matters pertaining to interpretation or
enforcement of disciplinary clauses within the
franchise document.
7. Dissemination of information pertaining to the
franchise documents and sale of franchises.
8. Work in tandem with the RSM and OSC’s in the
establishment of goals and the achievement of

account sales initiatives for the region as follows:
  • GM and RSM schedule a 1:1 block meeting every week.
Meeting objectives are:
  • GM will brief RSM on Business Owed Issues and FO
priorities
  • GM to brief RSM on any potential customer reference
issues or key operational issues
that might affect sales
  • RSM will brief GM as to the training and development
plan for each OSC
  • RSM will brief GM as to “hot” forecasted pipeline
accounts and dates and Pending
Closes
  • RSM will request any Operational resources sales may
need in terms of presentations,
proposal development, etc.
9. Coordinate relationships with accounts and
franchisees as are necessary and in the best interest of
the RSC and corporation.
10. Work with the VP Administration team to ensure that
all activities relating to administrative policies and
procedures are being adhered to in the region.
11. See that office relations are maintained in a fair
and consistent manner and in accordance with
corporate policies and objectives.
12. Assure that all funds, physical assets and other
property are properly safeguarded and administered.
13. Maintain and oversee a succession plan which will
assure that qualified successors are in training or
in place for key positions.
14. Perform such other duties as are assigned from time
to time by Global Support Center.
RELATIONSHIPS
1. The GM is accountable to the RVP for interpretation
and fulfillment of his/her responsibilities.
2. The GM exercises the authority delegated by the RVP
and keeps the RVP informed on the use of
these delegated authorities.
3. The GM works in tandem with the RSM regarding account
sales activities
4. The GM works the VP Administration regarding all
regional administrative issues.
5. The GM works in conjunction with the VP Operations on
improving and maintaining operational
standards in the region.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing
and Finance or a related field required

QUALIFICATIONS:
A successful track record of personal success and
management experience with minimum of five (5) years
management experience.
Previous P/L management experience required
Operational experience in the service industry is
required
Business planning experience for a regional territory is
required
A detailed understanding of the janitorial and/or
franchising business is a plus but not required
Solid experience managing and leading the activities of
a skilled, diverse and dedicated staff.
Ability to communicate and implement company objectives
and initiatives to Regional Support Center
personnel.
A team player and leader, able to develop and leverage
the strengths of the Company team members.
Highly motivated and able influence and motivate others.
Ability to make sound judgments.
Superior problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and
efficiently.
Ability to travel to annual meeting, quarterly trainings
and other meetings as directed.
High-level of ethics and integrity.
Superior interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The environmental factors/and or physical requirements
of this position include the following: While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is
required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient
to visit
potential customer locations as well as national and
international office locations; and the ability to
stand,
walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry,
move) light to medium weights of 10 to 20 pounds. The
employee is required to have good hand-eye coordination,
arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability
to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate
computer equipment and read information. The
employee is required to sit, reach with hands and arms,
talk and hear.
