Education & Experience Summary: Supporting New Build Nuclear Plant Performs a variety of engineering work in the initial planning and design phases of projects. Use creativity and objectivity to perform studies and technical activities to arrive at the most cost effective, reliable technical solution. May also support procurement and construction phases or projects with engineering knowledge and experience. Performs other duties as required. Responsibilities: Perform detailed technical analysis of complex project issues. Monitor applicable regulatory requirements and stays abreast of regulatory trends. Arrive at sound and prudent decisions, course of action or a conclusion, especially when only limited facts are available. Solve problems quickly. Work activities include collection and interpretation of engineering data, development of project design basis, development of specifications, and performance of detailed engineering. Engineering Reports are often a work product. Ensures conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures. All engineering disciplines are included in this Job Family. Qualifications/Competencies/Experience: In addition to Level 1, and 2 competencies, has depth and breadth of experience in own discipline; integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities Acts as a key contributor in a complex and critical environment May lead teams or projects; shares expertise Has developed depth and breadth of expertise in own discipline Applies in-depth skills and broad knowledge of the business to address complex problems and nonstandard situations Anticipates customer needs and identifies solutions Interprets internal/external business issues and recommends best practices in own discipline Manages costs for specific projects Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions Manages own time to meet objectives; forecasts and plans resource requirements Explains difficult concepts and persuades others to adopt a point of view. BS in Civil Engineering with major in geotechnical engineering Preferred MS in geotechnical engineering and P.E. License in the State of Georgia 1. 5-year plus experience in design and construction of deep foundation, including pilings, deep soil densification/solidification, slurry wall, etc 2. Familiar with geotechnical analyses programs for slope stability, piling analyses, liquefaction, etc. 3. In-depth knowledge in construction, specifications preparation, ASTM Standards and familiar with local and State regulations. 4. Capable of working independently, working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, and familiarity with CAD 5. Problem solving on construction technique of soil densification/solidification and deep foundation 6. knowledge of geotechnical lab testing, analyze subsurface field and lab data, perform analysis for deep foundation designs, preparation of geotechnical as-built reports. 7.
