Under supervision of a licensed nurse, provides nursing care according to facility philosophy, policies and procedures. Responsible for meeting patients’ daily needs and responding to call lights; assumes care of patients’ clothing, personal property and environment; makes careful and efficient use of supplies, linen, and equipment.
Must have a certificate from a nursing assistant training program approved by the State of Maryland and be listed on the State Registry.
High school diploma or equivalent desired; literacy and communication skills in English mandatory.
Must possess good nursing skills, patience, understanding, and a positive, caring attitude.
Understands and agrees with hospice philosophy.
Must be able to assist in lifting patients weighing up to 250 lb.
Must be able to push wheelchairs weighing up to 300 lb.
