We are seeking a Strategy Manager to help manage the Gilt City business which is positioned for significant growth in the years ahead. The Strategy Manager will apply their analytical skills and industry expertise to partner with the Head of Strategy and Operations in taking ownership of the business and unleashing this growth. S/he will play a critical role in leading the development and execution of strategic initiatives that deliver measurable business results (e.g. revenue growth, new customer acquisition) to help establish Gilt City as an industry leader. S/he must have the business depth to interface with Gilt executives and build successful relationships across departments. Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to use customer data in smart and groundbreaking ways are essential to succeed in this role. S/he should have a passion for ecommerce, be innovative, team oriented, and an effective communicator, as well as have a desire to participate in a fast-paced, start-up environment with rapidly changing priorities.

Responsibilities

Research and identify opportunities for Gilt City to further distinguish its offering
Collaborate with the Sales team to help optimize revenue: focus on sales mix, pricing, category expansion, calendar management and vendor selection
Own/co- lead broader strategic initiatives, e.g., loyalty program, geographic footprint, new lead generation and scoring systems, affiliate partnership programs, email contact strategy
Better leverage other Gilt Groupe properties to drive incremental traffic to the City site, acquire new members and increase cross shopping
Analyze historical data to better understand customer shopping preferences and purchase behavior
Partner with marketing to identify our most attractive/ profitable customers and help drive new customer acquisition in these segments
Evaluate competitive landscape in the market and identify areas of improvement for Gilt City
Manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance the business needs while building an outstanding customer experience

Qualifications

Exceptional modeling & analytical skills
Attention to detail is critical and a “can-do” approach is essential
Team player, self-motivated, entrepreneurial and very comfortable working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
Strong ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, via written and oral formats, to all levels of the organization
Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
Prior experience in a management consulting firm
B.A. or B.S.; undergraduate business program a plus
