Global Accounting Manager

Trek Bicycle Corporation is looking to add an experienced CPA to join our finance staff as a senior leader as the Global Accounting Manager. The Global Accounting Manager will play a significant role in the global consolidation and financial management of Trek’s global operations. This position will report directly to the Corporate Controller and is located in Waterloo, WI.
Key to this role will be the ability to lead a talented accounting staff, self-direct and manage a multitude of diverse projects and be able to help drive global standards across Trek’s subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will have worked in a global environment previously and have an appetite for working across business units and time zones. Strong technical accounting skills with international experience are a must. Additionally, prior experience with Tax, VAT, Multi-Currency, Transfer Price and Intercompany transactions will be necessary.
The Global Accounting Manager will own the global Capital Expenditure budget & be responsible for global Fixed Assets for all of Trek’s operations. Corporate Accounting, A/P, Payroll, and 4 specialty business units will report directly to this role. Global Accounting Leader:
  • Lead global consolidation of Trek’s operations and financial performance in accordance with GAAP
  • Lead monthly closes and coordinate timely and accurate submission of financial statements
  • Coordinate & lead annual audit across all global subsidiaries; manage & negotiate fees
  • Own reconciliation and management of all B/S accounts
  • Prepare quarterly financial package for Board of Directors
  • Develop, implement Global Accounting Policies, Controls and Standards for Trek subsidiaries
  • Manage global Capital Expenditure tracking, Fixed Assets, schedules & impairment testing
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis & global project work as needed
Global Process & Standardization:
  • Identify opportunities to standardize process across global operations
  • Assist with defining, executing global accounting policy standardization across international subsidiaries
  • Work closely with subsidiaries to identify local risks and understand statutory requirements for reporting
  • Develop risk-based review of B/S for regular reviews with CFO
  • Make recommendations and help define strategy for global operations
  • Manage Payroll & A/P functions for parent company
  • Define, implement & execute controls over key global processes where needed
Business Unit Leader:
  • Act as senior finance leader for 4 business units operated out of Waterloo, WI
  • Define and develop reporting metrics and support regular reporting for operating units
  • Provide oversight and financial support for senior operating leaders
Education and Qualifications:
  • Optimism
  • CPA with 8 + years’ experience in a global business
  • Proven ability to lead an organization and ability to manage people
  • Excellent communication skills & the ability to operate in a high-energy, fast paced environment
  • Ability to work in a global environment with flexibility to travel as needed
  • Ability to manage the details but also communicate with and influence senior leaders
