This professional procurement position is responsible for establishing a center led global commodity strategy, which fully aligns with global operational requirements. This with clear tactical plans for execution through Palls globally diversified manufacturing / procurement infrastructure.
Evaluate existing vendor base, to establish current state. Once established define future state / “best in class” supply chain / vendor design requirements.
Interface with decentralized procurement teams to establish “local” manufacturing site inputs / requirements are aligned with center led strategy.
To produce a vendor rationalization program, with execution timeline
Define opportunities within Emerging Markets for new sources of supply (China,India, Central / Eastern Europe,Latin America)
Categorize the required vendor spend, to be managed via multi year Pall contracts, to manage risk, liability and to maximize 3P,Q&L outputs.
Design, and lead contract negotiations
Detailed understanding of macro economic factors affecting, driving and influencing “Plastics” commodity management.
Maximize 3P,Q&L outputs (Price, Package Size, Payment Terms, Quality, Lead Time) for year over year working capital improvements.
Design and lead vendor transitions (Outsourcing,Insourcing,Vendor to Vendor)
Strong understanding of Lean methodologies, principles and tools
An understanding of Six Sigma methodologies, and tools
Ensure logistics model for “Total landed” cost of supply is maximized
Prioritize highest level of quality, and continuity of supply for commodity
Support engineering on all New Product Development (NPI), and introduction programs
Support cross-functional efforts to reduce costs, standardize components through the VEVA process
Dynamic understanding of market place technologies, for adoption, and incorporation into Pall’s value proposition.
Critical to ensure strong, value-adding relationships with suppliers, internal customers, and cross-functional departments
Business travel requirements up to 50%
Bachelor’s degree in Chemicals, Polymer / Plastics Engineering. MBA preferred
Minimum of 7 to 10 years of procurement / commodity management experience
Minimum 3 years management experience.
Highly effective communication and facilitation skills.
Proven negotiation skills, with demonstrated performance results
Ability, to understand and formulate the business requirements for a commercial trade contract.
Conducted business travel outside of North American. Has a current valid passport for travel.
MUST have global sourcing experience for a global multinational manufacturing company.
Strong cultural sensitivity to manage relationships across global boundaries, and time zones.
STRONG leadership capabilities to deliver results and to build cross-cultural teams.
Tactical strength and abilities to support manufacturing locations globally.
Experience in leading low cost country sourcing projects through “Cradle to Grave”.
Highly analytical
Multilingual ability (both written and oral) an advantage.
Experienced with the usage of electronic sourcing tools for RFI, RFQ, Reverse Auction
