Performs forecast and demand analysis, and provides forward-looking guidance to internal Manufacturing and external Suppliers to assist in planning capacity requirements, inventory and shipment levels in terms of overall volume and product mix. Ensures production and inventory levels are aligned to meet customer expectation. Ensures targeted levels of On Time Delivery (OTD) and Backlog are achieved, and proactively attacks both individual and systemic issues.
Chair weekly/monthly/quarterly Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning meetings with Market Managers, Finance and Operations leaders to define Product Families and Fulfillment Strategies to meet market expectations (Globally and Regionally). Forecast and Monitor any issues affecting market support. Have a complete understanding of end-to-end supply chain requirements to ensure customer and shareholder expectations are met. Ensure that all failures to meet customer requirements are recorded, reported and analyzed. An OTD report will be raised weekly and presented to Region and Global Market, Sale and Operations management, with coded cause and corrective action for failure to meet customer requirements.
In collaboration with Market Manager, stratify product families into Make-To-Stock, Make-To-Order and Engineer-To-Order where applicable. Determine stocking locations, establish Kanbans and ROP’s for MTS finished products to minimize stock holding and optimize customer delivery performance / satisfaction. Monitor and maintain reporting of stock levels, OTD (complete and on time) and drive lead-time reductions.
Manage sharing of Global inventory between regions, wherever we have an opportunity to reduce slow or non moving inventories within a region or wherever we need to resolve a critical customer shortage.
Work with Engineering and Market Managers to align the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure proper ramp-down of old products and ramp-up of new products, particularly as it relates to determining whether the products will be MTS, MTO or ETO.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
(30%) Order Book Management - Release, Shipment and Billings, Credits, Alignment to Fulfillment.
Ensures Regional customer service is maintaining an accurate Order Book, setting right expectations with customers and aligned with open purchases orders / stock transfer orders at each supplier / factory site. Ensures delivery plans are aligned with local production and inventory actions to ensure requested delivery expectations are successfully met, consistently predictable.
(25%) Forecast and Delivery Management,
Utilizing automated regression formula and historical order bookings prepares product family demand forecast for review and incorporation of Market intelligence and Strategic Action plans provided by Market Manager. Proactively identifies issues that may inhibit successful delivery performance, and drives actions to resolve potential failures before they occur. Facilitates resolution of issues with Quality, Production, Supply Planning, Engineering, and Finance, as required to ensure success. Communicates proactively with Management (Regional Commercial Teams, Manufacturing and Global Marketing) on current status of Orders and Shipment requirements.
(20%) Customer Demand, Delivery, and Inventory Planning
Performs weekly reviews with Global Market Leader and Region to evaluate forecast and demand data, current stocking/kanban levels against agreed targets, and open order status to define revenue plan and customer service levels. Reviews backorder status and shipment schedules to ensure delivery expectations are aligned and effectively communicated. Provides shipment updates and tracking data as required. Establishes and maintains positive and productive working relationships with Customers and colleagues by providing proactive communication and integrity of delivery commitments.
(15%) Product Family Definition and Stratification
Provides visibility to, and researches variations in demand. Identifies drivers, and recommends actions to SIOP Team. Assists in the alignment and development of Inventory, Kanban, Production, and Transport Logistics models to successfully meet future demand requirements. Manage health of inventory by ensuring slow and non moving products have a plan by Market Manager to sell the inventory. Participates in Supply Chain, Plant, and other project related activities, audits, and initiatives to enhance the performance and profitability of Pall Corporation and it's customers for market supported.
(10%) Reporting and Administrative
Updates backlog reports and participates in Weekly Region Backlog Reviews. Updates backlog root cause and resolution plans for Global Market (by Region). Maintains OTD and Backlog reporting and charts for Region and Global Management updates. Provides weekly shipment reporting against plan, and revenue projections for month and quarter.
Performs other reporting, analytical, and administrative duties, as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A 'customer first', approach to all work methods.
Ability to work in compliance and participate in audits from compliance groups (ISO, SOX, etc).
Must have the ability to travel with minimal advanced notice and be available for travel of reasonable duration (2 weeks).
A well versed communicator both written and verbal, with the ability to convert “data” into “information” and interpret & present for management understanding. Prepare summary reports for Management ( Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain) using spreadsheets and graphics.
The ability to communicate in a professional and empathetic manner when dealing with both internal and external customers.
A good working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Manufacturing processes.
Analytical and problem solving abilities required. Creative thinking to interpret customer and planning requirements to production personnel with reference to priorities and procedural changes.
Good organizational, time management and negotiation skills.
A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, relevant studies, or commensurate experience, in addition to a minimum of 10 years experience in both Demand Planning and the management of Customer Fulfillment.
Ability to review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, generate and translate forecast and demand data into alignment with inventory models, and recommend required changes to ensure high levels of fulfillment while minimizing inventory costs.
Proven success in managing order processing and the order fulfillment process. Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with a solid track record of developing positive customer relationships.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate and deliver tactical results through people and parties not in direct reporting lines, and effectively work through cross-functional teams to drive process improvements.
Experienced using SAP (preferred) or a major ERP/DRP system. Effective in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Highly detail oriented with strong statistical, analytical, and problem solving skills.
APICS or ISM certification (CPIM, CSCP or equivalent) preferred.
