Global Head Clinical Demand and Supply Planning

Reporting to:

Purpose:
The Clinical Supply Chain Management organization’s mission is to ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time every time, such that no patient will go without and no clinical trial will be delayed.

The Global Head Clinical Demand and Supply Planning will play a key role in achieving this mission. The chosen candidate will lead teams in Kaiseraugst/Switzerland and SSF/US and cover the following areas: Customer relationship management with Roche Pharma’s Clinical Operations organizations in pRED gRED, PD and GPS, Forecasting and Demand and Supply Planning and of the company’s clinical materials globally. The position is the business process owner for the clinical demand and operations planning process globally to ensure supply to patients and to drive ongoing improvement in our clinical supply processes.

Responsibilities:
Establish effective Clinical Supply Planning Strategies covering API through packaging and distribution

Ensure effective forecasting and supply planning processes are established to ensure targeted plan stability for the execution plants

Implement simulation and scenario planning strategies to deliver efficiency, speed and cost savings for clinical deliveries

Manage and own the Clinical Demand and Operations Planning (CD&OP) process for the Global Clinical Supply Network

Drive alignment of clinical planning principles and business processes across sites to ensure on-time and cost effective clinical supply deliveries

Manage effective customer relationships and collaborative cross-functional initiatitves to realize continuous improvements

Continuously assess systems landscape and the deployment of SAP/APO functionality in conjunction with IXRS systems and/or other system interfaces for max efficiency

Competencies:
Proven Leadership skills combined with excellent communication skills and the ability to positively influence colleagues, key decision makers and customers

Effective people manager with track record of recruiting and developing high performing team members

Independent self-starter with proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional and cross-cultural teams

Problem solving skills with ability to anticipate problems, recommend solutions and implement

Demonstrated ability to align, establish and improve business processes across sites to realize business value and simplification

Experience using ERP software solutions for forecasting and planning (preferably SAP/APO & APICS CPIM or CIRM certification is a plus)

Educational Background and Experience:
10-15 years Supply Chain Management experience in Pharmaceutical industry – including experience in development/clinical supplies

  • B.S. degree in Life Sciences or Business (Operations Management or Supply Chain Management)
  • Potentially MBA or advance degree
  • APICS CPIM, CIRM certifications a plus.
25- 30% international travel required
