The Global Industries Editor is responsible for optimizing digital content across the entire network of ey.com and associated external-facing digital properties including client-facing portals, mobile apps, social media, e-newsletters and more.
This role will work closely with industry marketing teams to own the scope of deliverables in those practice’s digital space.
Responsibilities
Advises industry stakeholders on best practices in the digital space, and project-manages digital campaigns
Edits digital content, with an emphasis on thought leadership, including material for ey.com, the EY Client Portal, our mobile applications including EY Insights, e-newsletters and social media
Writes teasers and site copy to gain the maximum traffic and usage; adheres to brand standards and search engine optimization
Cross-promotes content between related site sections, including the homepage, webcasts and interior pages, as well as mobile sites and e-newsletters
Creates new ideas to enhance these sections, such as adding video, multimedia, surveys, etc.
Develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders in business units
Analyzes metrics to determine the effectiveness of the content; acts on these to improve site performance
Delivers optimized content to site producers and (or) publishers, enabling their implementation into the content management system
Edits documents for web readability, ability to scan and quality of presentation using digital media leading practices
Accountable for editorial decisions on placement, prioritization, editing of material and copywriting
Works with Ernst & Young Knowledge service line strategists to meet all service line goals
Manages the demand for projects and prioritizes resources accordingly
Balances competing priorities and multiple projects; deals with a range of senior stakeholders with varying perspectives
Challenges the status quo using appropriate diplomacy
To qualify, the successful candidate must have:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English or Journalism
Four years or more of online editorial experience
Three years or more of experience working in a professional services firm
Project management experience
Able to influence senior stakeholders
Adapts to constantly changing work requirements while assimilating new information, analyzing it and effectively applying it
Takes initiative and is proactive in a fast-paced and highly challenging environment
Quickly defines problems, collects input, conducts assessments, draws conclusions and problem-solves
Able to manage and resolve conflicts
Strong ability to edit print documents into streamlined experiences using leading practices of web usability (ability to scan)
Able to write effective web copy, including engaging teasers, headlines and tweets that drive traffic to interior pages
Cross-promotion skills; able to relate content items across site pages and sections for relevant audiences
Search engine optimization skills, with a strong knowledge of leading practices and an ability to adapt writing and content editing to search engines
Multimedia skills, with an ability to conceive how digital content in different formats (e.g., text, video, interactive) enhances the whole user experience; able to translate these ideas into practical executions
Relationship management skills, with a strong ability to develop and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders
Able to work in teams in a matrix environment
English language skills; excellent written and verbal communications
