The Novelis Global MES Lead is responsible for designing and implementing standardized manufacturing process and systems as part of an integrated program. The MES Lead will lead a team that will define the Global MES template, build the MES Center of Excellence, and develop the correct governance model for changes to the solution template. The MES Lead will also be responsible for understanding key manufacturing business requirements, decisions on process content and standards, and future extensions in alignment with global strategies set by the Plan to Ship (P2S) Process Stream and Global Business Process Council.
Lead the development and deployment of the Global MES Solution
Manage the Governance of the solution design to drive consistency across deployments
Establish and build the MES Center of Excellence and fully define/refine the role of the MES COE
Develop staffing plans to build CoE capabilities aligned with the deployment plan
Develop strategy for centralized and in-plant support
Define training approach and plan for the support organization
Deploy global MES solution(s) in coordination with Novelis SAP project team and when there is a need (eg. capital expansion activity), guide MES Project Managers and deployment teams in deploying the Global MES solution
Participate on the program steering committee
Conduct risk mitigation and Impact assessment of process changes on organization
Leverage the MES solution globally; setup milestone reviews/checkpoints with the global “MES Review Council”
Provide Global MES Change Management leadership
Maintain legacy and new MES architecture; manage the costs and risks of maintaining legacy and new solutions and/or legacy and new interface solutions
Align MES and related solution(s) to the Plan-to-Ship business process
Ensure integration and alignment across the entire Novelis SAP architecture
Bachelor degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent working experience
7-10 years of manufacturing, plant floor automation or manufacturing systems experience
5+ years of IT business analysis and project management experience
Broad experience in shop floor processes and/or MES systems
Strong project management skills to lead on-time and on-budget deliverables
Experience defining and building solution delivery and support organizations
Ability to work with all levels of the organization from contract resources up to top company leadership
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively work with and support colleagues and co-workers with different styles and levels of technical knowledge
Strong understanding of accounting and financial processes
Strong business and systems analysis skills, test planning and testing skills, troubleshooting skills and experience with numerous environments and architectures
Well-developed organizational and decision making skills
Experience in business process design
Able to partner with the business and form solution strategy to meet business needs
Ability to Influence the business and support organizations on direction and prioritization
Ability to prioritize, manage, and handle multiple tasks concurrently
Ability to work closely, manage and negotiate with 3rd party vendors
Ability to communicate and interact in a global organization
Demonstrated leadership and attention to detail skills through prior experience at the strategic and tactical/implementation levels
Must be able to travel up to 50% and perform additional job-related duties as requested
