This role is a part of the Global Supply Chain team pivotal in the commercialization of new products from development to manufacturing. This role will drive and execute material plans working with Design Engineering and Category Management for new product ramp plans. This person will be an active participant in new product introduction team as the key procurement contact for tactical material status. Critical BOM risk analysis and order release tracking to meet planned schedules along with providing updated material program status will be the main function of this role. This individual will ensure that all buying decisions support the specific needs and requirements of the Business Unit. Ensure all relevant preliminary information to procure parts, materials, equipment and/or services necessary for the operation of an organization. Analyze quotations received; be involved in the selection or recommendation of suppliers with whom orders are to be placed and schedule deliveries. At times, may be called upon to develop contracts with preferred suppliers. Negotiations as required to implement cost reductions before product launch and support cost savings initiatives in the growth phase of a new product. Advise appropriate company personnel on "make or buy" decisions as they relate to procurement costs. Arrange for trial evaluation of supplier's products with applicable groups. Prepare and place the most complex purchase orders with suppliers for assigned parts, materials and services requiring extensive or specialized service. Support the project team through all milestones and ensure standard work is adequately completed at each step. Expedite and follow-up on critical production part shortages. Ensure a stable supply chain following new product launch.

Determine own practices and procedures under limited or no supervision. Position provides new and varied work situations of high complexity. Errors in judgment may severely affect production; create delays and revenue loss. Extensive outside contacts made with limited or no supervision with manufacturing, factory representatives and salespeople at all levels. Coordinate buying activities within the organization with other departments and buyers. Candidate will be working with project team members in other geographic locations and needs to be able to understand and react to the needs of all internal customers and compensate for the geographic disparity with increased communication. The global coordination will focus on key raw material supplier constraints as well as finished good production plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Proactive communication with vendors and project teams is critical to success.
• Interface with the CM or HID factory responsible for the actual product build; manage and oversee the technology transfer prototype centers to production factory
• Oversee the CM’s NPI team to ensure a smooth transition through design, launch and ramp
• Oversee design validation and reliability testing of the product
• Support manufacturing issues and yield improvement actions
Provide feedback to appropriate departments of the CM partner to meet the requirements
• Develop strong relationships the various functions at the CM partner, and with suppliers.
• Participate in the monthly NPI Readiness meetings to develop a common, agreed-upon Plan; participate in the Engineering PDP gate reviews
• Interact with Global Planning for all new product introductions to analyze ramp to demand
• Assist with or lead supplier negotiations and contract development
• Develop new supplier implementation plans in alignment with Global Supply Chain strategies
• Ensures and monitors company compliance with contractual obligations, sourcing policies, and preferred supplier arrangements
Required Knowledge / Experience:
• Prefer a Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain with minimum 5 to 8 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a minimum of 5-8 years broad manufacturing management experience
• Knowledge of general business procurement practices and techniques, negotiations, electronic and electro-mechanical products and characteristics and usage of materials to be procured.
• Accomplished track record in developing strategic sourcing strategies and leading cross-functional teams though the NPI strategic sourcing process
• Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management such as production planning, scheduling, operations planning, and inventory control
• The ability to effectively negotiate is an important trait to possess. A strong sense of urgency and a bias for action will have an impact on the overall results of the project.

• Experienced in working in cross functional teams across global boundaries
• Knowledge of all purchase functions including MRO, production and engineering. Candidate must possess the ability to perform well under minimal supervision

In addition, successful candidates will have the following profile:
• Experience with managing multiple projects
• Experience managing pre-production and production builds for microelectronics, electro-mechanical and fabricated items.
• Experience developing supply agreements and managing supplier relationships
• Strong organizational skills with a focus on follow up and follow through is expected.
• Excellent organizational, communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with forecasting tools and statistical tools a bonus
• Must be familiar with NPI/Product launch Processes
• Must be familiar with Electronics Manufacturing
• Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing.
• Some travel and fieldwork, including international travel, therefore employee must possess or can acquire a valid US Passport.
• Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing.
• Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
