Job Title: Senior Staff Engineer Environmental
Focus: Global Resource Conservation Program Manager
This position will focus on driving resource conservation programs both at the Fab 8 facility and globally. As leader of the Resource Conservation Task Force, drive corporate and site focus on sustainability and resource conservation (water, energy, process chemicals and gases) by documenting successes and evaluating opportunities. Evaluate new technologies and processes and their impact to resource conservation. Track utility consumption and utility set-points for all manufacturing sites. Coordinate best practice sharing among all manufacturing sites. Establish measurement metrics to compare all manufacturing sites internally and externally. Identify high and low performance and develop action plans. Provide updates for RMS OPS Reviews and the Executive Stewards Council.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Provide support for site EHSS and Facilities organizations at all sites. Support resource conservation activities, ROI analysis, and industry benchmarking (i.e. DRS – pilot for idle mode, SGP – heat exhaust recycle for implant). Provide input on capacity expansion programming and design with emphasis on resource conservation. Provide mentoring on supporting process tools reliably with focus on sustainability goals. Advise on instrumentation for process tool energy analysis, measurement and verification as well as emissions testing.
At Fab 8, in Malta NY, manage the resource conservation budget, review project proposals, rank and develop prioritized lists, manage improvement projects where appropriate. Provide mentoring to the facilities site staff on resource conservation, ESH and process tools. Drive the facilities energy audit, develop benchmarking for Fab 8 and identify high and low performance. Drive LEED certification and NYSERDA rebate initiatives. Support emissions testing (e.g. compliance with EPA Mandatory Reporting Rule for Greenhouse Gases) and other duties as required.
B.S. in Environmental Engineering/Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 10 years of industrial experience, including semiconductor experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues to individuals and groups at many levels in the organization
Self-directed and self-motivated team player
Knowledge of Wafer Fabrication facilities, tools, materials and processes. Familiarity with applicable EHS regulatory requirements.
