Silver Spring Networks is seeking a Global Solutions Manager for Latin America with networking industry experience and relevant regional markets expertise. The candidate will drive discovery and development activities related to prospective opportunities including partner strategy, development of potential opportunities and deal support as well as coordination with internal product management, engineering, finance, professional services, sales and manufacturing organizations to engage prospective customers. Working across all organizational levels and various groups, the candidate will coordinate projects to ensure successful customer pilots and drive larger customer deployments.
The position will be based in Redwood City, CA, but the candidate will be expected to travel approximately 50% of the time.
Reports to Senior Director, Global Solutions
Prioritize new international opportunities through evaluation of overall ecosystem (e.g. regulation, mandates), partner qualification, customer engagement and delivery of a market entry strategy.
Identify and engage potential meter and system integrator partners; align on partner strategy and elaborate a joint solution to deliver to prospective customers.
Support the deal team generating financial proposal with pricing strategy; support the legal team with customer and partner-specific contract requirements; support the core development team with customer-specific product requirements and updates.
Ensure successful proof-of-concept pilots through definition of scope and acceptance plans with professional services as well as product readiness with manufacturing.
Drive support of customer business case development in preparation for regulatory filing.
Assist with the hiring, training and support of in-country teams; manage transition of launched customer programs to established in-country teams.
Educate and host overseas delegations on the company?s business and technology.
7+ years in business development, strategic planning, product management or global working experiences.
MBA or equivalent qualification, and preferred Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline (e.g. electrical engineering, computer engineering).
Expertise in electric utility industry not required, but a strong plus.
Expertise in networking industry not required, but a strong plus.
Fluent in Spanish
Ability to command the technical respect of engineers, work successfully with customer management, coordinate diligently with legal and finance on contractual documents and run projects effectively on compressed timelines.
Demonstrable experience with product management techniques; product positioning, and implementation and operational practice.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.
Self-directed with ability to focus on the right projects and entrepreneurial drive to deliver results in a fast-growth environment.
