Accountable for global contract negotiations and long-term supplier agreements.

Identifies world-class global supplier base by leading sourcing activities including supplier identification, RFQs, supplier selection, supplier qualification, and on-boarding suppliers.

Develops long-term supplier agreements and strategic alliances on a global basis.

Responsible for taking appropriate corrective action with suppliers to ensure their compliance with purchase orders contractual terms. Recommend and undertake necessary corrective actions toward suppliers for poor performance.

Creates and maintains various reports and analyses in support of department objectives.

Works with Material Planners/ Buyers Marketing Managers, Sales Managers, Quality, and Warehouse personnel to assure timely resolution of purchasing related issues.

In partnership with Marketing, Sales, and Engineering provides proactive plans to ensure company has a cohesive and comprehensive sourcing solution for ASR purchases, including the development and start-up of new product lines and growth initiatives.

Accountable for managing total cost, pay terms, inventory reduction, ensuring supplier performance for fill-rate, delivery, quality and contract compliance.

Ensures that all supplier data is maintained accurately within the information system databases.

Required Skills

Strong negotiation skills.

Strong analytical skills. Need to have the ability to make recommendations based on data analysis.

Strong PC aptitude in a Windows environment required; specifically Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point). Ability to learn other software packages and maintain an awareness of technology advancements.

Must demonstrate an ability to work independently and be detail and project oriented.

Knowledge of global commodity markets and ability to use this information in developing strategies as well as negotiations.

Strong distribution knowledge a plus

Ability to learn technical aspects of products quickly.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business required. Degree with a focus on supply chain and/or operations preferred.

Engineering degree a plus.

A minimum of three years of strategic sourcing experience required. Global sourcing experience preferred.
