Alcoa Global Primary Metals has over 20 locations worldwide and is North America's largest integrated producer of primary aluminum, with 11 smelters located in the United States and Canada. We provide a secure base of aluminum starting stock like ingots and billets for each of Alcoa's downstream aluminum businesses, such as Mill Products and Extrusions. We also supply products to a broad external customer base in all major markets. In addition to unalloyed aluminum ingot, we produce value-added forms of primary aluminum that include billet, rolling ingot, cast rod and various casting alloys.
Alcoa Materials Management is the commercial arm of Global Primary Products for all products not just aluminum. This also includes transportation and steamship functions for all of Alcoa.
Reporting to the Manager, Global Transportation Analysis, the Global Transportation Business improvement Analyst will be the global leader who delivers analysis and operational performance data transparency related to Alcoa’s $1.4B transportation spend. The position develops, manages and coordinates the consolidation and flow of global transportation spend and operational data.
The role also discovers market resources, interprets data sets and designs databases to deliver timely & succinct global data analysis that can be leveraged to deliver financial spend reduction and operational cost improvement opportunities. The incumbent will also recommend and work with the global Alcoa transportation organization and all Alcoa business logistics and plant leadership, who implement the high impact spend reduction opportunities and tracks progress against targeted improvements.
Discover and evaluate diverse data sources, challenge current conditions and deliver insightful, actionable, accurate and timely global transportation information.
Focus on best practice copy/paste activities and improvement opportunities.
Drive global standardization.
Develop, by region, global Alcoa transportation and logistics key performance indicators and nonfinancial indicators that capture key operational and financial improvement opportunities.
Produce regular reports for consumption by global Alcoa transportation and logistics leadership, Alcoa Full Potential leadership, group, BU, region and plant leadership and transportation and logistics staff.
Where possible, enact sustainable procedures for report production by low cost entities.
Research, analyze and consolidate transportation market performance, trends and savings opportunities.
Design, produce, analyze and distribute reports measuring improvement potential and savings captured for all Degrees of Implementation which provides a common methodology to help our businesses translate ideas to cash, via a comprehensive global database.
Strong ability and knowledge to work with large and complex data sets in a creative, team oriented environment.
Exceptional analysis, problem solving, and system design skills.
Expert level capabilities using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Strong teamwork, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with ability to interact successfully with all levels of the Alcoa organization.
