Gospel Choir Director
(State University Administrator I - SUA 1)
Provide leadership, direction, supervision, and musical instruction to the members of the Bloomsburg University Gospel Choir. Coordinate and schedule concerts in consultation with Executive Board of the choir.
Bachelor’s degree in choral music or three or more years of direct musical experience directing and working with choirs required. Demonstrated musical skill and experience in leading choral groups. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations. Ability to communicate effectively interpersonally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct college age populations. Ability to plan and coordinate choral concerts and related activities. Finalist(s) for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview.
Applicants will be rated on the following criteria:
1) Demonstrated musical knowledge commensurate with that of a choral group.
2) Demonstrated musical skill and experience in leading choral groups.
3) Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.
4) Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct college age populations.
5) Ability to plan and coordinate choral concerts and related activities.
Term of Appointment:
Minimum 4 hours per week rehearsals and 4 concerts required per semester
Not to extend beyond May 17, 2013
Appointment Date: January, 2013
Salary: $19.23 per hour
