Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is an integral part of the Boeing global organisation, employing approximately 1400 people at 13 sites around the country, primarily in support of high technology aerospace and communications systems for the Department of Defence.

We are currently seeking suitable candidates for a “Graduate Systems Analyst” to work in Information Technology division based at our Brisbane office.

As the position holder you will be responsible for design, program, test, implement, document and maintain computing applications. You will gather and evaluate end user requirements, modify or upgrade applications to maintain software functionality. You will also be responsible to identify and resolve application problems, reviews system performance and recommends improvements. You will also provide support to the Business Functions on Business Systems related matters, analytical support, and improvement of Business Management processes

To be successful in this role, you will have met the following criteria:

Essential Criteria
Completely understands and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts.

Knowledge of a variety of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies including; Waterfall, Agile, RAD, Object Orientated Analysis and Design and Iterative.

Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Develops solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.

Proven ability to conduct business analysis in a complex business environment. Experience in working with business systems and processes.

Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results, reaching erroneous decisions or making recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.

Interacts frequently with inter-organizational personnel and external customers. Represents the organization by providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

Demonstrated ability to prepare reports to identify issues, discuss options and recommend actions.

Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills that facilitate interaction between IT team members and key internal and external customer/stakeholder groups and users.

IT degree (or similar) and typically 2-5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The ability to undertake adhoc tasks out of hours and available to be rostered for on-call duties when required.

Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Defence Security clearance to SECRET or above.

Advanced knowledge of Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) tools and SQL.

Working knowledge & experience with Tier 1 ERP systems such as Oracle eBusiness.

Desirable criteria
Qualification (degree or similar) and/or experience specifically in the business area of Finance (e.g. Accounting, Payroll etc)

Demonstrated knowledge of business systems and applications used across a large and complex business environment. Examples Mondelio, Cognos & ODI

Project co-ordination and/or project management experience.

Certification or knowledge of ITIL processes.
