Primary responsibilities include preparation of proposals and grant applications, and performance of professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing and finalizing high quality responses for timely submission for the acquisition of all types of grants and funding. Focus is primarily on securing federal grants but includes opportunities to submit letters of inquiry and proposals to non-profit, foundations and for-profit organizations. The position works in partnership with other ASCO and Conquer Cancer Foundation colleagues in general business development and fundraising activities.
To qualify for this position, the candidate must possess:
Previous experience in grant writing, grant application review
Background in health care, human services, public health, and/or Health Information Technology
Excellent writing and editing skills including scientific or technical writing
Considerable skill in effective verbal and written communications
Ability to work well under pressure and meet quick deadlines
Government experience and oncology knowledge-base preferred
