With deep knowledge in our members' fields, our grant writers are in a unique position to identify the most viable grant opportunities, write relevant grant proposals, and manage proposal development teams.
Hanover Grants, a division of Hanover Research, is actively recruiting for our Grants Research Associate position.
The Grants Research Associate will conduct research to identify viable prospective grant-makers for our members' wide-ranging initiatives and produce well-written customized reports of these findings. Working closely with Grants Consultants and Content Directors, the Grants Research Associate will largely focus on prospect research but also provide other research and writing support throughout the grant-seeking process. This position offers an excellent opportunity for aspiring prospect researchers with strong writing skills and is an ideal fit for those with an interest in education, health care, and nonprofits.
Location: Washington, D.C. or Charlottesville
A successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
Proven academic achievement;
Strong interest in prospect research, fundraising strategy, grant writing, and the industries and organizations we serve;
High comfort level with Microsoft Office applications, such as MS Excel and MS Word;
Ability to take ownership of assigned projects from start to finish;
Ability to work quickly and independently with minimal guidance or oversight;
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Strong command of the English language and demonstrated writing skills;
Strong fact-checking and editing skills.
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
A bachelor's degree, an excellent academic record, and research or writing experience in a professional or an academic environment. Familiarity with federal and foundation funding databases and 2 - 3 years of grants-related research experience strongly preferred, especially in a higher education, health care, or nonprofit setting.
