Graphic Design Supervisor
Supervises and contributes to the development and production of collateral material, internal signage, print advertising and campaigns.
Create visual concepts, comps, designs, layouts, and all prepress activities for a variety of print communication pieces. Works with the Advertising Manager Supervisor to ensure design and brand standards. Oversee and supervise production process for all jobs from inception to placement. Maintains quality control and reviews all files prior to production. Provides creative leadership to graphic design team. Oversee brand standards in type specification, color quality, inspection and approval of proofs to ensure high quality outcome within time constraints. Collaborate with others on strategy and content development. Provide creative consulting to other departments. Work with the Advertising Supervisor to prioritize and track the progress of all jobs, including: specifications, progress, timelines and other project variables. Archives and maintains files and creates reports as needed. Assign jobs to others in the design department to keep all projects on time and accurate. Work with freelancers, agencies and media representatives as needed. Engage in professional development as needed to stay current in communication design, and design-related computer hardware and software needs.
Physical and Mental
Comprehensive knowledge of graphic design, typography, and publication production as well as marketing and branding strategies used in print and web media. Project management and team leadership concepts. Ability to maintain a set schedule, with flexibility to work occasional evenings and/or weekends to accommodate deadlines. Exceptional organizational and planning skills, including exacting attention to detail and follow-through. Demonstrated proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite programs: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat. Proficiency using standard office software, including Office. Ability to stand, sit and walk. Present oneself in a neat and clean appearance at all times. Work in a fast-paced, high volume, distracting and noisy environment with multiple short and long-term deadlines.
5 years as a publication and graphic designer, and a BS or BA in Design or Advertising. Prior experience working in casinos and/or public attractions preferred. Experience and knowledge of web-based communications strongly desirable. Possess strong communication and organizational skills. Some experience with digital media content management is preferred. Must be congenial and be a team player. Minimum 18 years old and have the ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the NY State Lottery Regulations.
