Position Overview: The Graphic Designer Assistant is responsible for conceptualizing designs and producing visual solutions to be presented through various visual communications media including circulars, packaging, logos, signage, websites, and other forms of corporate communication.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Through the creative process, determines appropriate design and layout for a project-taking into consideration time and or budget constraints. Selects appropriate colors, style, images, typography, etc., to be used in the project to create an esthetically pleasing final product
  • Creates illustrations and or utilizes existing photographs to produce marketing materials, or specific images needed for a project
  • Presents finalized ideas and concepts to Marketing Managers and makes appropriate changes deemed necessary by the Marketing Managers
  • Manages multiple projects at a time, scheduling appropriately according to deadline
  • Assembles and collects final electronic files for outsourced printing, and provides necessary instructions to the outside printer regarding job specifications, quantities and delivery dates, etc. Performs a “flight check" on all files to ensure all files are “press ready" before submitting to the printer to avoid unnecessary printing charges
  • Develops and designs artwork and enhancements for company websites
  • Assists in updating artistic content by working with Marketing Managers researching and gathering the necessary information and graphics
  • May be required to prepare preliminary sketches of a project and or produce final illustrations for certain projects, as necessary
  • Capable of digitally enhancing photos as necessary
  • Responsible for managing, enhancing and updating company newsletter

Requirements

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years prior experience
  • Must be familiar with graphics software, preferable Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple, conflicting tasks
  • Highly creative, self-motivated, and a team player
  • Energy and passion to do what needs to be done with a track record or execution/results

Education:
  • An Associate’s Degree is required, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
