Our customer, the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Center's vision is to be the central epidemiological resource and a global health surveillance proponent for the U.S. Armed Forces. They provide timely, relevant, actionable, and comprehensive health surveillance information in order to promote, maintain, and enhance the health of military and military-associated populations.
They are in need of a Graphics Designer to aid in that mission.
: Designs, maintains, and updates published reports, summaries, and AFHSC/DoD policies on the AFHSC website.
: Assists a team in planning, designing, analyzing, and reporting of disease and injury trends or outbreaks within DoD community.
: Prepares tables, graphs and charts for publications.
: Prepares poster presentations for national conferences; Fiscal Year Reports; and slides, tables, and graphs in support of requests and inquires received.
: Collaborates in the design and publication of health surveillance summaries and reports for the monthly publications of the organization's website, and other media.
: Prepares graphics for ad/hoc briefings, white papers, summaries, reports, and presentations on health surveillance.
: Follows established quality assurance processes and plan in ensuring accuracy of reports, summaries, and analyses prior to distribution.
: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Graphic Design or related field; Masters or equivalent preferred.
: 3 years work experience in related occupation.
: Experience in supporting a government, military or DoD affiliated company.
: Experience in using Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint and other program applications necessary to support this agency.
: Strong writing and oral communication skills.
: Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and able to collaborate with others on projects and investigations.
: Team player who collaborates well with other professionals.
: Ability to coordinate, manage, and prioritize multiple competing priorities; strong analysis and problem solving abilities; and excellent team work and organizational skills.
