Develop and execute creative designs collaboratively for NRECA products and services that dynamically and consistently enhance content and messaging across channels through development of visual images using a variety of media. Support NRECA’s rapidly evolving creative needs by developing and producing high-quality visual and physical solutions through media that include digital, print, illustration and exhibit design. Develop visionary creative strategies while supporting or managing multiple projects for different programs.

Purpose and Mission

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive creative direction and produce graphic components that optimize content and imagery for storytelling •

Generate innovative, effective and strategic creative visual solutions to achieve business goals and ensure that communication products effectively deliver message to intended audience •

Design for brochures, email graphics, handouts, directories, newsletters, reports, presentations, exhibits, banners, kiosks, events, storefronts, transit, direct mail, advertising, photography, video, sell sheets, social media content and websites. Develop info graphics to convey complex concepts and/or large amounts of data and produce flash banners for websites •

Collaborate with creative director to create and execute concepts that elevate NRECA’s brand through thoughtful and strategic design •

Uphold corporate brand standards and enhance NRECA’s visual identity •

Effectively manage electronic assets (logos, photos, etc.) •

Provide guidance to members for using NRECA owned graphics for appropriate application of NRECA and Willie Wiredhand logos and provides design counsel and feedback as requested •

Draft copy as required to fit selected media applications •

Participate in all aspects of print and web/digital design and file production (including gathering of source files, file manipulation, color correction, trouble-shooting, preflight, etc.) •

Collaborate with colleagues to design trade show exhibits, interactive hands-on experiences, and on-site graphics for conferences and events •

Manages vendors for external design development as needed •

Develop shot lists and provide art direction for photo shoots as needed

Requirements and Qualifications •

Bachelor’s degree in in graphic design, fine arts, or closely related field •

Demonstrated understanding of industry standards and design best practices with extensive knowledge of the principles of typography, layout, illustration, photography and production, with a prepared portfolio as evidence •

5 -7 years of progressive work experience in a fast-paced creative and production environment, conceiving and executing graphic projects •

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Mac OS and other software packages •

Experience with managing asset management systems and digital media repositories •

Proven competence in creative direction, composition and graphic design, print and digital production •

Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage timelines, workflow and resources efficiently •

Intimate knowledge of the creative process with the ability to move a project from concept to completion Ability to conceptualize, storyboard and articulate creative concepts and rationale to other team members and Executives •

Knowledgeable in realizing economies of scale through specification standardization and production bundling •

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, maintain professional composure and facilitate consensus amongst parties to achieve project goals •

Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction, carrying projects from inception to completion; must also work well in a team environment •

Excellent verbal and written communication skills •

Ability to understand needs of internal partners and confidently guide them to the most appropriate solution(s) •

Understanding of copyright/trademark laws
