The graphics designer within the Athletics Department will be responsible for the design and production for various sports of large quantities of printed marketing collateral, such as schedule posters, schedule cards, schedule magnets, ticket brochures and season ticket stock. The position will also be responsible for creation of ads for various publications in which the Athletics Department advertises, as well as art for signage used at various venues. Designer will play a vital role in the graphic identity of Texas A&M Athletics. Other duties as required.
Occasional Duties
Supervise student assistants. Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience required. One year of experience in graphics. Must have thorough knowledge of latest design/layout software (example: Adobe CS -- Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Must have portfolio of post-production materials to show in an interview. Work environment demands the ability to do both high concept ideation and comparatively less exciting development of production graphics. Some nights, weekends, and holidays may be required to complete assigned duties. Requires ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in graphics design or art preferred. 3 years professional print design experience preferred. Preferred candidate will have experience in Macromedia Flash design for website.
