Currently, Meijer is looking for a Grocery Area Team Leader. The person selected for this position will be responsible for providing providing remarkable customer service and in-stock conditions in the Grocery, Dairy, Frozen Foods and Party Store while controlling labor usage to activity based levels.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating established Grocery Zone processes to drive exceptional customer service and in stock position
  • Maintaining required departmental staffing levels
  • Training and mentoring team members to execute their job responsibilities
  • Providing a safe work environment
  • Maintaining high sanitation levels throughout sales floor and backroom
  • Developing potential team members to assume additional responsibilities as the need arises
  • Cross training team members to allow flexibility in scheduling and assurance that required tasks are completed daily
  • Monitoring team member work practices and providing corrective action where necessary
  • Identifying business issues that impede labor control, profitability, customer service and in-stock position and taking the appropriate corrective action through communication and/or process improvement recommendations
  • Maintaining 100% ad in stock throughout the Grocery Zone
  • Ensuring product rotation process meets Corporate guidelines
  • Review daily ad orders for completeness and accuracy
  • Review Meijer Stocking Production System (MSPS) performance from previous day
  • Coordinating/creating/building daily work assignments for stocking team
  • Ensuring team members are properly scanning all work assignments
  • Making periodic tours of the sales floor to gather product flow information
  • Maintaining Corporate display compliance guidelines
  • There is a 45 hours (non-exempt) pay base for this position
  • Other daily tasks as required

Qualifications
  • MSPS Training
  • Inventory Analyst (IA) University
  • Activity Based Labor Training
  • Successful completion of all required Team Leader Computer Based Training (CBT)
  • Successful completion of Grocery Merchandising Strategy Training
  • Production oriented
  • Maintains a positive relationship with customers, team members, vendors and other leadership
  • Possesses excellent communication skills
  • Possesses excellent problem solving skills
  • This position may require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, squatting, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing
